Detachment of the meniscal roots from their tibial posterior attachements can cause meniscal extrusion and joint space narrowing, and has been associated with knee arthritis. This study analyzes a series of cases in which the posterior horn meniscal roots were detached iatrogenically because of malpositioning of the transtibial PCL reconstruction tunnels.
